Christie Smith is global lead of Talent & Organization at Accenture. She is a member of the Global Management Committee and is an Accenture Executive Pride Sponsor, representing and promoting LGBTIQ+ equality at the highest level of the organization.
Christie became global lead for Talent & Organization in 2021, having joined Accenture in 2020 to lead and expand the transformational change offerings that address the complex change management challenges facing CEOs, C-suites and boards. Talent & Organization helps clients to create transformation by enriching the relationship between people and technology. By leveraging expertise in data analytics combined with a deep understanding of human intelligence, the practice has developed a range of innovative products and services which address clients’ real-world challenges and create lasting impact.
Previously, Christie was the global vice president for Inclusion & Diversity (I&D), I&D business partners and I&D solutions at Apple. She managed the global expansion of the function and the team in all regions and countries where Apple had offices and retail stores. In addition, she was instrumental in the growth of female and underrepresented minorities, expansion of scalable solutions in recruiting, global pay equity and compensation, and development of leaders.
Prior to this, Christie served as interim CHRO at Grail, a start-up cancer detection company. At Deloitte Consulting she held several senior leadership roles, including West US Region consulting lead and global lead for Human Capital, working with major clients on their human capital strategy, talent management, organizational design, workforce planning, large-scale technology solutions, and I&D. She also has deep expertise in CEO consulting around global talent strategies, along with CEO succession and executive team structure, management and capability. As part of this work, she leveraged deep data analytics to drive predictive socioeconomic and political factors that would impact business and market strategies. She was also responsible for the founding and leadership of the Deloitte University Centers for Inclusion and Community Impact.
Christie received her doctorate in Clinical Social Work with a focus on Industrial and Organizational Psychology from New York University. She is a frequently sought-after speaker on leadership, strategy, and the future of work. She has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Forbes and CNN. Christie has been recognized as a leader in Fast Company’s Queer 50 list (2023 and 2021), an Outstanding LGBT+ Executive Role Model (2022), Top 50 Diversity Leader (2020), Most Influential Woman in San Francisco (2012-2015), and Women to Watch from Diversity Magazine (2012). She is a member of the Committee of 200 (C200) and World 50 Women and she sits on the board of ENDO International, a life sciences company.
